PER4-02 Mind Games

Password : lendrach

Please note that this scenario is designed for a 4-5 hour play slot. It could even be extended to 6 hours if the DMs allowed players to fully interract with NPCs in and around Traft City. This would be the *most* satisfying time frame (though any longer would be stretching it).

If you are planning on playing Mind Games at a convention or game day with 3 hour sessions, I suggest you play it over *two* sessions (ie. 2x 3hrs).

As DM, you should also consider downloading the Traft City Visitor's Guide from the Perrenland website and have it on hand (or even the city info found in Dark Waves from 592CY if you still have a copy handy). This will be useful if/when PCs stray from the "path" so to speak.

Q. HOW do you decide who wins the drinking competition? THe
module says six rolls to figure out which is the Lake Thunder, but is that
how you decide the winner? What if more than one PC makes it?

A. INTRODUCTION: The text says: Those who make an INT check (DC 14) correctly guess which
brew is Lake Thunder. Perhaps it is not made clear enough, but *every* PC who guesses correctly is
a "winner" (along with Lendrach Kuursen). They *each* get a "Dinner For Two" (as
outlined on the AR).

Q. ENCOUNTER FIVE: What if the PCs don't check Connor's body, and they don't find the
original ring? Does this make the whole ring thing irrelevant to them?

A. It is extremely crucial that the PCs find the "original ring". It's the
"gizwatzim" that drives the story forward to some degree. If PCs don't think
to check the body of Connor (ie. Heal or other means), the DM should ask for
Spot checks (DC 5) to notice that Connor's dead hand appears to be "clenching"
something. This should lead the PCs to find the original ring and
investigate some more.
